Ferguson riots after grand jury fails to indict officer Darren Wilson in Michael Brown shooting
  • 9 years ago
A grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri chose not to indict officer Darren Wilson on criminal charges in the killing of Mike Brown. Riots ensued.

Gunshots could be heard in the background of footage showing police using tear gas on crowds of protesters as riots broke out. Stores were broken into and looted, others were burned to the ground.

Pictures and video showed dozens of cars alight, including at least one police car. A Little Caesars pizza shop and Autozone auto parts store were completely destroyed by fire.

“We respectfully ask that you please keep your protests peaceful,” Michael Brown’s family said in a statement. “Answering violence with violence is not the appropriate reaction.”
