The K-9 officer, a 5-year-old bloodhound named Zane, had worked with the Conyers Police Department for four years as a tracking dog—three of which were spent with his handler, patrol corporal Jerahmy Williams.
Williams, who has been with the department just shy of five years, claims he finished his 12-hour patrol shift sick and passed out on his couch believing he had put Zane in his kennel.
He discovered the body around 5 p.m.
