New Jersey EMTs confuse doll for baby in hot car, smash SUV window in “rescue attempt”

Toymakers the world over have gone to great lengths in recent years in order to make baby dolls look more and more realistic.

Which would explain why ambulance workers in Hoboken, New Jersey broke into a sweltering SUV on Thursday after catching sight of one of these hyper-real figurines sitting in the back.

Hoboken resident Luz Kitty Mieles's 2-year-old granddaughter had left the doll in a child safety seat in the back of Mieles' vehicle.

Confusing the doll for an actual baby, several witnesses dialled 911.

That's when the paramedics sprung into action, breaking into the vehicle to save the poor infant.

Thankfully, though, they quickly realized their mistake before things got out of hand.
