Strong undercurrents prevented any attempt to haul up a sport-utility vehicle from the seabed at a point off the Penang Bridge up to noon on Tuesday. Seberang Perai Tengah District Police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said divers were unable to hook a cable to the Mazda CX-5 that plunged off the Penang Bridge last Sunday.
