Prank goes wrong: police called in after high school seniors strip and egg birthday boy

Around 8 pm Tuesday night, local residents in Yilan called the police and reported that a gang of teenagers were fighting in the street.

Yilan police sent 7 officers to the scene, ready to break up the fight.

Upon arrival they discovered it was only a birthday prank. One individual, a high school senior with the last name Lin, had just turned 18, so as part of his birthday celebrations around 10 of his friends had stripped him down to his skivvies and were throwing raw eggs and chunks of cake at him.

After reassuring local residents that it was just a birthday prank that had gotten out of hand, the police helped hose the birthday boy down before sending him and his friends on their way.
