Popular girl's basketball coach bites player resigns

Doyle Wolverton, was coaching a basketball game in Marion, Mississippi on November 12th. The high school girll's basketball coach lost his cool during a the game while scolding a player who made an errant play. When the girl barked back at him, he allegedly pulled her closer to him and bit the side of her face.

The girl's parents took her to the hospital where she received treatment. Her father initially filed a complaint with the Leake County Sherriff's Office, but later dropped the assault charge because Wolverton handed in his resignaion.

Wolverton currently holds the second winningest record in girl's basketball with more than 1200 wins versus only 181 losses over his 38 year career.
