Lord of all good, our gifts we bring to thee - Chris Lawton at St Michael's Church, Hatfield

Me playing the organ at St Michael and All Angels Church in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

The organ was built by the John Compton Organ Company Ltd in 1955 and is the 2 rank 'Miniatura' model. In 2005 the organ was overhauled by Saxon Aldred who was one of the people who installed this instrument when he was an apprentice at Compton's. The specification remains original and reads:

PEDAL
Sub Bass 16'
Flute 8'
Great to Pedal
Swell to Pedal

GREAT
Bourdon 16'
Open Diapason 8'
Rohr Gedeckt 8'
Principal 4'
Fifteenth 2'

SWELL
Open Diapason 8'
Rohr Gedeckt 8'
Flute 4'
Piccolo 2'

For this first video im playing the hymn 'Lord of all good, our gifts we bring to thee' to the tune 'Stoner Hill' which shows off the main tonal colours on the organ.

Many thanks to Reverend Susan Marsh for allowing me access to this excellent example of a Compton 2 rank Miniatura model instrument.

NOTE: this is purely my interest in order to make sure that these fine organs are archived forever and I do not make any monetary profit by this video being on dailymotion.
