The NES was home to some real gems of adventure games, but in a few different extremes. In the middle were the MacVenture games (Shadowgate, Déjà vu, etc). Then there was Kings Quest V and Nightshade on the more PC style side of things, and then there was this, a colorful, charming, completely menu based adventure game. Princess Tomato has a childish coat of paint and an easy going feel, but features a unique take on the adventure game format. And features on the creepiest mugshots in video game history.
