The 69th Venice Film Festival, the oldest film festival in the world, is under way.

Several of this year's films have been inspired by recent conflicts in the Arab world.

In "Winter of Discontent," director Ibrahim El Batout portrays the Egyptian uprising as both dark and uplifting.

Al Jazeera's Suranjana Tewari reports on the movie billed as a message of hope.
