Victims of US sterilisation get apology

The US state of North Carolina has apologised to thousands of people who were forcibly sterilised under its eugenics program.

Now victims have come forward to tell their stories to a state advisory panel, now considering how to compensate them. But money cannot heal the scars, say some.
