Blondie worked their way out of New York underground

American band Blondie gathered fame in the late 70s and early 70s with hit singles like Heart Of Glass and The Tide Is High. Yet the group started out as an underground act in their hometown New York. "We never wanted us to be underground", says drummer Clem Burke.
