Floods in Queensland kill one

Flood waters continue to rise in Australia's Queensland state, which has killed at least one person.

The town of St. George has been inundated and about 2,500 people were evacuated.

Authorities expect a nearby river to reach a record level of 14 metres or higher.

The local council has been building a levee approximately four kilometres long to protect the town.

It is expected to hold.

But forecast says flooding is expected to continue for weeks in some areas.
