Lucky to be alive.
David Pickering is Australia's second shark attack survivor in as many days.
The 26-year-old snorkel instructor was leading a small snorkeling group off the west coast of the country, when he was mauled by a three-meter tiger shark.

"Deep water, sort of murky and it actually attacked me from the front which is pretty, pretty unusual."
Despite suffering serious damage to his right arm, he swam hundreds of meters to the safety of the shore.
Here on the east coast of Australia, a 44-year-old man was attacked by what is believed to be a great white shark.
Glen Folkard had been surfing off Redhead beach near Newcastle.

"He stuck his teeth in down near the knee and come out up here...so there's a big "c" shape in there."
Folkard had surgery on his upper leg and torso, and will have a further operation on Friday.
