Antoine Schmitt présente "Pixel Noir". Cette oeuvre générative intègre l'exposition permanente du Cube.
Dans Pixel noir, une forme mouvante constituée d’un essaim de pixels blancs vidéo projetés habite la surface du mur. Les pixels montrent une attirance compulsive pour un vrai tableau carré noir fixé au mur, sans jamais toutefois pouvoir y pénétrer. La chorégraphie générative qui guide ces pixels est construite sur un langage de forces psychologiques et physiques. Par le contact des pixels de lumière contre la matière physique, et par la référence directe au Carré noir sur fond blanc de Kasimir Malevitch, cette oeuvre témoigne des rapports entre l’art programmé et l’Histoire de l’Art.

In Pixel Noir, a moving shape composed of video-projected white pixels swarms over the surface of the wall. The pixels are compulsively drawn to a black square mounted on the wall, without ever being able to enter it. The generative choreography which guides these pixels is built on a language of psychological and physical forces. With its light pixels bumping up against physical matter and its direct reference to The Black Square by Kasimir Malevitch, this work is a testament to the relationship between programmed art shows and Art History.
