CSR Minute: Singapore Compact for CSR Partners with City Dev

The Singapore Compact for CSR has launched a new initiative aimed at youth. The CDL-Singapore Compact Young CSR Leaders Award enrolls university students to work with Small and Medium Enterprises, S.M.E.s, to help analyze and implement CSR programs and practices among those business. The initial effort, organized with City Developments Limited, assigned 27 teams to propose CSR initiatives to 10 SMEs. The top three teams will receive their prizes at the International Singapore Compact CSR Summit 2011 to be held September 5th.

Volcom, the apparel company, has announced its third annual Give Jeans a Chance campaign as part of the Give Back Series, in partnership with the National Coalition for the Homeless. Give Jeans a Chance is a clothing drive that aims to raise awareness around homelessness, and to collect 50,000 pairs of jeans and, new for this year, jackets, worldwide.
