Vivaldi /Franco Gulli, 1959: The Four Seasons - Spring

Thirty-three year old Franco Gulli (1926-2001) is soloist in this 1959 recording of "Spring" from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Aldo Ceccato (1934) leads the Angelicum Orchestra of Milan. In this performance and the others on this LP, Gulli is playing the Stradivari "Marechal Berthier" which was previously owned by the Hungarian violinist Ferenc von Vecsey (1893-1935). I created this video from the LP shown above, issued in 1967 on the Audio Fidelity label, serial number FCS 50,032.
