Paris Hilton thanks fans for their support

Paris Hilton has thanked fans for their support following her arrest for allegedly possessing cocaine.

The socialite wrote on her Twitter page: "I'm so thankful to all my fans for all the love and support you are giving me. Thank you all. Love you so much. Love Paris xoxo."

The 29-year-old was arrested on Friday over one count of possession of cocaine, but claims the drugs and the purse they were found in were not hers.

Meanwhile earlier in the week, a man was arrested for trying to break into the US heiress's house whilst she slept upstairs with her boyfriend Cy Waits.

In the hours before her arrest, Paris was interviewed by a local TV station in Vegas where she was asked about the attemped break-in:

"We were sleeping and heard this loud banging coming from downstairs and we went to check and there was this man staring at me through the window. He didn't even run.

"He was smiling and had a kitchen knife, it was a long, a big buck hunting knife. And thank God, Cy was there with a gun to get the knife away and hold him until police came," she said.
