En 1975 Inkaterra inicia sus actividades turísticas en la Amazonia del Perú, específicamente en la provincia de Tambopata, Madre de Dios, con la instalación del albergue turístico Cusco Amazónico. Desde el inicio de sus operaciones, la empresa propició el desarrollo de las investigaciones científicas para conocer como establecer sus programas de conservación de la biodiversidad y de los ecosistemas amazónicos, que a su vez fueran la base de sustentación y fortalecimiento de una buena oferta turística.

In 1975, Inkaterra began its tourism activities in the southeastern Amazon region of Peru, specifically in the province of Tambopata, Madre de Dios, with the construction of a tourist lodge called 'Cusco Amazonico’. Since the start of its operation, the company pioneered in the development of scientific research and study on how to establish biodiversity and ecosystems conservation programs in the Amazon, which in turn became the basis of a sustainable and developmental tourism program
