European Journal | Czech Republic: A Bohemian Village Goes S

The Czech village Jindrichovice in the Karkonosze mountains wants to do away with bureaucracy and presidential polemics. So its 700 residents have broken away from the government in Prague. The community within the Czech-Polish-German border triangle has secured its own wind-generated electricity, its own water supply and heats all public buildings with bio fuel. A portrait of Czech individuality as the country comes to the end of its EU Council Presidency.
