Francis Scott Key Bridge Demolition Postponed Due to Lightning

The demolition of the Francis Scott Key Bridge wreckage in Baltimore, initially planned for Sunday after a freighter collision in March, was postponed to Monday due to nearby lightning. The explosives will make precision cuts to split large sections of the bridge truss, allowing cranes to remove parts and clear the freighter from the channel. The demolition is aimed to safely and efficiently continue clearing the channel for the Port of Baltimore. The freighter has been stuck since the March 26th crash, which also killed 6 construction workers on the bridge.
