Clashes at Columbia University as NYPD Enters Campus Buildings, Arrests Dozens of Protestors

NYPD officers entered Columbia University's campus and took protesters into custody after the school president requested assistance. Protesters had barricaded themselves inside Hamilton Hall and set up encampments for over 2 weeks in support of Palestinian rights. Police used flashbangs and pried open doors and windows to enter buildings while making arrests amid clashes. Dozens of protesters were arrested, and three encampments dismantled, with at least two buses transporting detainees away from the scene, according to police.
