During a February 15th, 2024, standstill, in precipitation facing the #UNHCR and their white van, my steadfast call to meet the High Commissioner’s representative, Maria Clara Martin, was repeatedly countered with stubborn denial and elusive replies, highlighting their decade-long imprudent behavior.
Earlier, the situation intensified when, with the receptionist’s aid, they shut the vehicle's doors and decided to leave, disregarding my earnest entreaties and prolonged entrapment in Greece. As they typically set off from the garage, such encounters are uncommon.
Initially, the driver attempted to merge into traffic, steering towards me and nearly causing a collision, until a UNHCR agent intervened with a visual signal; however, with vehicles behind, the van couldn't reverse, leading to a deadlock until #Police arrived, only assisting the Van’s departure without resolving my concerns.
