Martin Odegaard Leaves Fans in Disbelief as He Crashes a Close-Range Shot Off the Crossbar in FA Cup

Martin Odegaard missed a golden opportunity in a frantic start to Arsenal's FA Cup encounter with Liverpool at the Emirates.

The 25-year-old crashed a left-footed shot against the bar from close range despite a large portion of the goal gaping.

Arsenal dominated the game's opening stages, having six shots in the first 15 minutes, while their opponents had none.

I just screamed when that Odegaard effort hit the bar. What is wrong with us,' wrote one user on X, formerly Twitter.

''Odegaard what a miss haha haha,' said another.

How many chances can we squander,' another chirped.

NOOOOOOO ODEGARD WITH THR BLOODY CROSS BAR BRO COMPLETED THR CROSS BAR CHALLENGE BUT NO GOAL,' another wrote in a fit of rage.

'Odegaard,' one simply wrote with a couple of crying faces.

'How has Odegaard not scored there,' asked one.

'Bro how did Nelson and Odegaard miss these chances?' said another.

Indeed, Odegaard wasn't the only one who fans think should have put them ahead.

Ibrahima Konate beat Reiss Nelson to the ball when he looked destined to poke the ball home before it fell to Odegaard.

After Odegaard hit the bar, Bukayo Saka scuffed a shot towards goal but it was blocked.
