Toyota Crown Sport SUV is Launched in Japan for 40 Thousand Dollars with Ferrari Purosangue Feature.

The Toyota Crown Sport makes its debut in the Japanese market, joining an expanded lineup of electric models under the Crown badge. This SUV reflects the sporty design of the concept introduced last year and offers both self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options.

The Crown Sport's profile is characterized by sculpted bonnet and sculpted rear fenders, highlighting the 21-inch alloy wheels. The rear is equally sporty, with horizontally arranged LED taillights, a narrow and highly sloping windshield and vertical outlets in the rear bumper.

The Crown Sport is 4,720 mm (185.8 inches) long, 1,880 mm (74 inches) wide, and 1,565 mm (61.6 inches) high. This makes it 260 mm (10.2 in) shorter, 40 mm (1.5 in) wider and 25 mm (1 in) longer than the Crown Crossover.

Designers placed great emphasis on facilitating easy entry and exit. This is achieved through a combination of a high hip point, well-designed rocker panels and rear door trim that increases leg movement. In addition, the Crown Sport also offers Toyota's “sound-regulating roof,” which helps maintain a quieter cabin environment for better communication between passengers. The vehicle is equipped with the latest version of Toyota's Safety Sense ADAS suite, including features such as Proactive Driving Assist and Toyota Teammate Advanced Driving for assistance in traffic congestion.

Toyota Crown Sport will come with two powertrain options. The first is a self-charging hybrid that uses the Crown Crossover's 2.5-liter E-Four Parallel Hybrid System. It delivers a total output of 231 hp (172 kW / 234 PS), sent to all four wheels via an electric 4WD system. Regarding the plug-in hybrid, Toyota didn't reveal specific details but did say it will have an expanded electric vehicle (EV) range thanks to a new "large-capacity lithium-ion battery" that won't take up cabin space.

Toyota Crown will be produced at the Tsutsumi Factory in Japan and a monthly production volume of 700 units will be targeted. It will initially be offered in a single Hybrid Sport Z grade, priced at ¥5,900,000 ($39,620). Orders are currently being accepted in Japan; First deliveries of the hybrid version are planned for November, with the plug-in hybrid to follow in December.

The Crown range will expand further with the launch of the Crown Sedan in November and the Crown Estate (a large SUV) in 2024, joining the existing Crown Crossover.
