Millions of Bees Swarm Ontario Highway After Truck Accident

Over 5 million bees fell off a transport truck on a highway north of Toronto, Canada. The truck was carrying 248 hives containing approximately 5.75 million bees when some pallets slipped near Milton, Ontario. Authorities shut down the highway and asked drivers to avoid the area or travel with their windows rolled up to prevent injuring the bees. Local beekeepers worked to help retrieve the hives and bees still along the roadside. They estimate around 10% of the bees did not survive the incident.
