The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) announces the first four official entries for its 49th edition in December.
The first four MMFF entries are:
1. A MOTHER AND SON'S STORY by Cineko Productions, Inc.
Starring Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards
GENRE: Drama
EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Enrico A. Rogue, Patrick F. Menses, Jacky Lim
DIRECTOR: Nuel Naval
SCRIPTWRITER: Mel Mendoza-Del Rosario
2. (K)AMPON by Quantum Films
Starring Beauty Gonzales and Derek Ramsay
GENRE: Horror Thriller
EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Josabeth Alonso
DIRECTOR: King Paliso
SCRIPTWRITER: Dodo Dayao
3. PENDUKO by Sari Sari Network
Starring Cristine Reyes and Matteo Guidicelli
GENRE: Fantasy Action
EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Jane Basas
DIRECTOR & SCRIPTWRITER: Jason Paul Laxamana
4. REWIND by ABS-CBN FILM PRODUCTIONS, INC.
Starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes
GENRE: Romance Drama
EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Carlo L. Katigbak, Kriz Anthony G. Gazmen
DIRECTOR: Mae Cruz-Alviar
SCRIPTWRITER: Enrico Santos
The distinguished members of the MMFF Selection Committee, led by respected producer and industry stalwart of the film industry Jesse Ejercito, chose the entries from the script submissions.
"I thank the members of the MMFF Selection Committee for dedicating their time and effort in the thorough deliberation and selection process to choosing the initial set of quality films that moviegoers will surely love," said MMDA Acting Chairman and MMFF Concurrent Chairman

Meanwhile, the remaining four official entries to complete the MMFF 2023 will come from finished film submissions.
The deadline for the finished film submission is on September 29.
