What’s On Glasgow: Queen’s Park Arena is hosting free events for the whole family

For this week’s What’s On Guide we’re heading over to the Southside where a number of free events are taking place at Queen’s Park Arena catered to Glaswegians of all ages.

From Monday to Friday each week until 23 July films will be playing on the venue’s outdoor big screen, including children’s movies, classics and horror.

You can catch Lord of the Flies, A Star is Born, Jumanji, and much more.

And if the weather isn’t quite as nice as it is today there’s no need to worry as the films are also screened under a gazebo next to the bar, so you’ll at least be able to keep dry.

Next, on Tuesday to Friday each week fitness classes will be taking place, where attendees of all abilities can learn yoga, Muay Thai, breakdancing, and even the Charleston.

Local teachers will be on hand, and those with really small children can book them in at the soft play session while the class is on.

Now, Open stage is open to the whole family, showcasing the talents of Southside residents with live performances, art and music lessons, and participatory activities.

The application for performers was open to anyone, and the sessions were chosen to create a vibrant cultural hub to connect community and inspire creativity.

The venue also hosts graffiti workshops, kids classes, music events an more, with food and drink available on site.
