Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46: I. Morning Mood

Morning Mood is part of Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt, Op. 23, which was orginally written in 1875 for Henrik Ibsen's play of the same name (Peer Gynt).

The piece uses the pentatonic scale and alternates between flute and oboe.

It has become very popular over time and is not synonymous with the rising sun and beauty in the dawn of a new day.
