Round Up of NYC Climate Protests

Climate activists with New York Communities for Change held civil disobedience protests on October 26 and 27 as part of the #OccupyParkAve protests, which coincide with the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Sandy.

On October 26, protesters stormed investment firm BlackRock and dumped coal at the bottom of the company's escalators, holding signs that said, ‘Your investments are killing us,’ and, ‘Your greed = climate chaos.’

On October 27, the protesters threw tomato soup at the apartment where Blackstone's billionaire CEO Stephen Schwarzman lives, chanting, ‘Hey, hey, ho, ho, billionaires have got to go,’ while holding an ‘eat the rich’ dinner outside.
