Laboring On Labor Day

Workers in the US celebrated Labor Day this year by returning to the office. Office use nationwide averaged 47.5% of early 2020 levels in the second week of September, and 55% in the third week of September. Office use increased from the same period in 2021 when businesses scaled back return-to-Office plans as the Delta variant is spreading, and those efforts were further hindered by the Omicron variant. Employers are opting for hybrid workplace strategies and requiring three days of in-office attendance up from two days previously.
