Queensland records 3,118 new local cases, one patient in ICU

COVID cases in Queensland have jumped again, tipping over 3000 now, after recording just over 2000 yesterday. Despite the spike in cases, thousands of people are expected to attend the new year's eve fireworks celebrations in the state's capital tonight.
