Some elective surgeries have been cancelled, and doctors and nurses are being told to work even if they're a close contact, as South Australia's health system struggles to cope with the COVID outbreak. The number of people in hospital with the virus has increased by one to 37. The State recorded almost 15-hundred new cases, and the rising numbers have prompted a plea from the Chief Public Health Officer to stay at home, and avoid public New Year's Eve celebrations.
