'Gripping footage emanating from Manhattan, NYC shows the police strategically assuming control over a wild situation.
"On 53rd and Madison, a man with a knife was attempting to harm himself or others," the filmer, Jay Heydt told us. "The police waited for the right moment to taser and arrest him, saving all of us as a result."
The filmer gave props to the police for approaching things as smartly as they did: "The way these cops saved us this morning was highly commendable. They should be on FOX 5 New York."
