On Saturday, President's rule was lifted from Maharashtra at 2AM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister in the wee hours, by governor Koshiyari. All this happened without any notification to the press or communication to any administrative officers of the state.
Journalists and lawyers have raised questions over the legality of the whole process and some are even calling this move by the BJP a 'murder of democracy.'
