Schoolboy rides pillion with his own broken-down scooter on his lap

A schoolboy whose scooter broke down was given a lift home - riding pillion while balancing his own bike in his lap.

Motorbike lover Yotsakorn Pansuwan, 16, said his Honda Wave conked out while he was travelling to school in Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya, central Thailand on August 7.

However, he did not have any means of transporting the scooter to the shop and pushing it to classes would have taken too long.

He called his friends for help who rushed to take his beloved scooter to the mechanic shop near their school.

Dashcam footage shows the young lad carrying the scooter on his lap while his friend steers through morning rush hour traffic.

He even made it to lessons on time - before returning to the repair shop later that afternoon.

Speaking after, Yotsakorn said: "I was glad that my friends did not leave me alone, they helped me so we could go to the school together.

''There was nobody with a pickup truck to help me. So carrying the bike on my lap was the only way. I could not just leave it outside.''

Riding on a motorcycle while carrying another bike is not covered by any specific road laws in Thailand and it is common for locals to carry unusual objects.

However, police may stop road users at their own discretion if they believe they pose a danger.
