Retrieval operations for missing fishermen ongoing; PCG prepares evidence to file criminal charges

As the rescue mission for the 14 missing Filipino fishermen of the ill-fated FV Liberty 5 shifted to retrieval operations off the coast of Occidental Mindoro, Senator Grace Poe on Friday, July 3, appealed to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to augment and mobilize its resources.

After five days of investigation, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it is now putting evidence together to file criminal charges against the 20 crewmen of Hong Kong-flagged bulk carrier MV Vienna Wood, according to Vice Admiral George Ursabia, Jr., PCG commandant.
