1. Maharashtra puts hold on 3 Chinese projects worth Rs 5000 crores

2. Amid tensions between India and China, the Maharashtra government has put hold on the three major projects signed with Chinese companies last week.

3These agreements were signed at Magnetic Maharashtra 2.0 investor virtual meet which was attended by Chinese ambassador Sun Weidong. The projects involve investments of around Rs 5,000 crore in the state.

4. Magnetic Maharashtra 2.0 was an attempt by the Maharashtra government to kickstart the economy, post-Covid-19 crisis.

5. Three Pakistan cricket players test positive for COVID-19 ahead of England tour

6. Three Pakistan cricket players Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf and Haider Ali have tested positive for Covid-19. The team was all set for their departure to England on 28 June.

7. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed the same and added that the players had shown no symptoms until they were tested in Rawalpindi on Sunday ahead of the Pakistan men's national cricket team's tour to England. The players have been advised to self-isolate themselves with immediate effect.

The T-20 series is slated to begin from August 29 while the Test series starts from July 30.

8. IIT Bombay first major institute to conduct only online lectures for next semester
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has become the first IIT to take the decision of running its next semester completely online.
Scraping all face-to-face lectures for the rest of the year, director Subhasis Chaudhuri said the institute would teach the next semester “purely in the online mode so that there is no compromise on the safety and well-being of the students”.

IIT Delhi is also likely to hold the coming semester completely online and might call students back to campus only in December. However, the institute has not made any official announcement yet.
