Python wraps rescuer in potentially deadly coil as he tries to pull it from a well in India

A fearless man went down into a 12m (40ft) deep well in India to rescue a trapped python.

The man was lowered on a rope, from where he grabbed the python, which wrapped itself around him.

The man was slowly pulled back out of the well, only for another man to lose his grip on the snake rescuer's arm, sending him back into the well water below.

The incident took place on 9 December in Thrissur, Kerala, southern India.

Fortunately both the man and the snake were eventually rescued, with neither suffering any injuries.
