Baby On Its Way - Our Nursery Tour: The Creation Of Us

Ever since the shower, every day brings another wave of baby things to Heather and Christen’s Westbury, Long Island home and the reality of getting ready for their little girl’s arrival is starting to sink in. In this episode of The Creation Of Us, it’s a swirl of paints, curtains, clothing, and furniture as the girls get busy prepping and decorating the baby’s room.
There is so much to do and the clock is ticking. Assembling the closet system, organizing the furniture and picking just the right paint color and wall coverings has become like putting the pieces of a highly emotional puzzle together. “My vision for the nursery was not to make it overly bubblegum pink,” Heather explained. “The color of this room is Sand Dollar from Benjamin Moore. The first time I walked into the room, because the color was such a big deal to me, and I wanted it to be so specifically perfect, I started hysterically crying.”
Lots of item are arriving and being tested in various places around the room, but certain pieces are already special. “Another favorite part of the room is the bookshelf,” Christen shared. ”Instead of having cards, we had everyone sign a book. Now every time she opens a book, when she gets a little bit older, she will have a piece of every single person that she didn’t even know that loved her, even before she was born.” Many family members have also made clothing, blankets and toys that are also finding their own unique space. This baby’s big loving family is very excited and can’t wait to welcome her into the world.
