She's this countries (United States) first female movie star. Of course, I'm referring to her status as being a celebrity. Annie Oakley is a mysterious historical figure. That makes her Biography more appealing. Born in Ohio and forced into an adoption at an early age, it made her an angry young lady. However, she learned early on how to fish and hunt. She used a gun when on her hunts so frequently, she became an expert shot. Her experience as a sharpshooter (she admitted she wasn't afraid to shoot any man) was noticed and she was enticed to enter competitions in which she usually won. She and her husband Frank Butler, joined Buffalo Bills Wild West Show. He, Buffalo Bill Cody, was instrumental in making Annie Oakley a star or celebrity.
