China’s Hainan province to ban fossil-fuel car sales by 2030

China’s island province of Hainan has announced it will ban fossil fueled vehicles by 2030. The nation’s smallest and southernmost province, Hainan is the first to set a target date to phase out petrol-powered vehicles since Beijing announced plans in 2017 for a nationwide ban.
