Beef Ban: Ramdev Baba wants ban on cow slaughter

Amid row over ban on beef sale in some states, yoga teacher Ramdev on Wednesday sought a prohibition on cow slaughter in the entire country and called for giving "national animal" status to it. Not just that Yoga Guru Ramdev also slammed those who have been justifying consumption of beef. However this is not the first time Ramdev has said so about cow slaughter but many believe that it comes just after months of the centre indicating that it is working towards banning cow slaughter in India. Already there are many states that don't allow slaughter of cows.
