In a stinging attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday accused them of indulging in divisive politics by "sowing seeds of poison" and instigating violence to satiate their "hunger" for power.

Sonia exhorted people of the State to be cautious about the BJP for its corruption and communalism and evaluate the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre on the basis of its performance in the last 10 years.
