Legal betting on the Oscars a first

For the first time in the United States, you can legally bet on the Oscars. New Jersey is the first state in the U.S. to allow sportsbooks to accept wagers on the big event. But, compared to football games and other sports events, the limits for the Oscars are small. Some set the limit for the amount wagered at $500 a bet. Sportsbooks sometimes accept six- and seven-figure wagers on football games. In Nevada, sportsbooks have not offered wagers on the Oscars... Yet.
