Election Day time off

Nevada companies are required to give employees one to three hours of paid time off on Election Day, depending on the distance between the place of work and a polling location. But many employees don't. A recent national survey of 150 human resources executives found a majority of employees don’t ask for time off on election day. Chicago-based executive coaching firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas found that 61.8 percent of employers didn’t see an increase in time off requests to vote or follow coverage for this year’s midterm elections. About 21 percent those surveyed said they saw an increase in time-off requests on Election Day this year compared to previous elections.
