A driver in Madison, Wisconsin, had to be rescued from his car after his vehicle was trapped in a flash flood on Monday (August 20).

This video, shared to Facebook by Dacia Di Mattia, shows a Middleton fireman walking through the floodwaters towards a black car. She told Newsflare that the incident took place at the intersection of High Point Road and Old Sauk Road at around 6 pm.

Almost all of southern Wisconsin was put under a flash flood watch for the overnight hours Monday into Tuesday morning, which forced several road closures and downed power across counties. The western side of Dane County saw between three and six inches of rain, with more rain is expected throughout the evening.
