Romero Federico Saenz “Miro” Quimbo, a member of the Philippines House of Representatives, toured parts of Marikina city on August 12 after flooding caused widespread damage and forced thousands to evacuate their homes in the Malanday neighborhood.The Marikino River reached 18 meters above sea level on August 11, prompting a “3rd alarm” warning and mandatory evacuations, Rappler reported.Flood levels receded on August 12, the same source said, but parts of the city remained impassible.
