Highly respected and at times controversial, Scott Campbell's work as an artist on both fine art and tattoos have made him one of the most revered of this generation. His list of clients that have come through his Saved Tattoo in Brooklyn include a list of who's who including the late Heath Ledger, Josh Hartnett, Orlando Bloom, Marc Jacobs and Penelope Cruz among others. Working through several different mediums, he became perhaps most well-known in the gallery setting for his reappropriation of American currency into beautiful works of art — inciting powerful commentary along the way. From high-fashion collaborations with Louis Vuitton and a six-week stay in a high security prison to burning his own artwork several years ago at a proposed showing in Mexico City, Campbell is an individual of diversity and intrigue. We recently caught up with the artist in London as he spoke about both his art form and an upcoming collaboration that involves CLOT of Hong Kong and Japanese jewelers, JAM HOME MADE.
