Heat prevails with sporadic showers _ 071118

Good morning, southern regions had to deal with a severe heatwave on Tuesday and it seems like intense heat will continue with even higher humidity.

Taking about the heat first, heat wave advisories remain in place for more of the southern provinces with highs expected to hover around 33 degrees Celsius under mostly sunny skies. Be sure to drink plenty of water and avoid outdoor activities unless it's absolutely necessary.

Meanwhile, those of us in the upper regions will need an umbrella. 5 to 30 millimeters of showers are in store before noon, while southern regions will also get passing showers in the afternoon. It's better to keep an umbrella handy just in case.

Checking on today's temperatures, morning lows are kicking off slightly warmer than yesterday starting out at 23 degrees in Seoul, and Daegu, Gyeongju and Chuncheon is a bit breezier at 21 and 22 degrees.

For the highs, Seoul will get up to 29 degrees, Daejeon, Gyeongju, Daegu will have scorching highs at 33 degrees this afternoon.
