The R57 model is a 1928-1929 manufactured by BMW Motorrad with a two-cylinder, four-stroke engine and shaft drive. She was a sport model with OHV engine, the sister model of the R 52, which was designed as a touring model. As of July 1928 produced the BMW R 62 for the 750 cc class, along with the equally new and largely identical R 52 for the 500 cc class. BMW introduced the modular principle with this bike on.
